SIGGRAPH SpaceTime Student Competition & Exhibition - DEADLINE May 15 2008. This is an international juried exhibition for students currently enrolled in school and studying computer graphics and digital arts disciplines. The exhibition captures the state of creative computer-based student work and acts as an annual slice of the computer graphics continuum. Primary, secondary, and college or university students are encouraged to apply and the submissions will be handled separately. Accepted art and projects will be on exhibit at the annual SIGGRAPH conference, and will also tour nationally and internationally for approximately one year with the SpaceTime Traveling Student Exhibition conducted by the ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee. The exhibition will encompass three general areas: Moab Video Project is a year-long curatorial project organized by artist Christy Gast for a TV station in Moab, Utah. Mac21 is now airing one artist's video every week for the year of 2008. The videos are inserted into normal programming, and each video is broadcasted once every hour or so for one week. Due to Moab’s isolation, MAC21 began broadcasting local news via cable in the 1950’s, making it the world’s first cable news network. Today MAC21 functions as a motel information channel, with extremely local programming appealing to tourists as consumers of local culture and landscape. Much of the impetus for this project is inspired by the singularity of the setting, and the mythology of landscape. We are now curating summer programming (5 minutes
or less). Until May 15 contact me by e-mail or send, DVD’s
